Cookies with White Chocolate and Dried Cherries. This recipe plays with the sweetness of the white chocolate and the tartness of the dried cherry. As you might already know, white chocolate is much sweeter than the dark one, which rather has a very small tang of bitterness. This cookie is perfect for bridal or baby showers, or just for a plain merienda.
To prepare, cream some butter in a mixer for three minutes. Add caramelized and powdered sugar and mix again. After another three minutes of mixing, scrape down the bowl using a spatula. Add two eggs (one egg every minute). Scrape the bowl and then add some vanilla. Mix it again for a minute. While doing this, you can combine some baking soda, flour and salt in another bowl. Gently add this to the batter under a slow-speed mixer. When it seems that the mixture is blended well, add the dried cherries and white chocolates. Mix it using your hands. You can use an ice-cream scooper to gather up the mixture. Bake it for ten minutes. Leave it on the pan for five minutes and then let it cool very shortly. After a minute or so, your dried cherry cookies coated with white chocolate are now ready to be served.
Dried Cherry Apple Pie. Dried cherries are also perfect with pies. The procedures for making an ordinary apple pie are almost the same. You just add some dried cherries. Start off by mixing dried tart cherries and apple slices. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar and ground cinnamon. Pour the combined cherries and apple into the batter. Make sure it is blended well. Leave it for 15 minutes. Bake it afterwards in a preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve it hot with a nice cold iced tea.
Bread Pudding with Dried Cherries. Everyone loves a small serving of pudding after every meal. Aside from its sweetness and the delightful softness, it also equalizes the strong flavor of soup and meat that we had. Adding dried cherries on the recipe will surely make this dessert more pleasing and enticing.
To prepare, grill a French Bread for two to three minutes or until it is toasted well and when grill marks already appear. Cut the bread into cubes and leave it for a little while. Meanwhile, mix beaten eggs, vanilla, nutmeg, sugar, melted butter and cinnamon in a bowl. After the mixture is stirred well enough, add some milk, dried cherries and lemon zest. Include your sliced bread and mix everything well. Set it aside for about an hour while making sure that the bread is soaked in the liquid. Transfer it to a loaf pan and then grill (Indirect Medium Heat) for about an hour or until the top surface is puffy and brown. Slice, serve and enjoy.
